It is universally acknowledged that a great number of people will use plastic items every day like plastic film bags. Hence, many people do not know what kind of plastic your item is composed of, which is of great importance for your health as well as thin plastic film.

There are primarily six types of plastics that are used to produce the item that we use on a day-to-day basis such as plastic masterbatch.

1.  Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET / PETE)

This can be regarded as the first commercially available plastic as well as plastic packaging materials. On account of its capacity to prevent oxygen from infiltrating and destroying the goods inside, this form of plastic can guarantee the safety of food and drink. It is a highly recyclable resin that is also affordable, lightweight, and shatter-resistant.

Then, you should know the wide range of use of PETE in making items like :

Soft drink bottles

Juice bottles

Water bottles

Shampoo/conditioner bottles

Liquid hand soap bottles

Carry-home food containers

2.  High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE)

This is the second type of commercially available plastic. HDPE is one of the most often used materials in thermoplastic production just like plastic film.

What you should know is that HDPE is a BPA-free product that is also considered environmentally friendly. Additionally, HDPE is highly resistant to various situations such as oil, moisture, and other conditions.

Then, you should know the wide range of use of HDPE in making items like:

Toys

Food storage containers

Waste & recycling receptacles

Outdoor signage

Reusable water bottles

3. Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC)

This is the third type of commercially available plastic. This kind of plastic is manufactured in two forms: hard or unplasticized polymer (uPVC) and flexible, plasticized PVC. Though PVC is widely available like silicone masterbatch, when compared to other commercial plastics, it is also dense and resistant to chemicals, alkalies, and impact deformation.

Then, you should know the wide range of use of PVC in making items like:

Rigid pipes

Wire insulation

Residential flooring

Commercial flooring

Building siding

4.  Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE)

This is the fourth type of commercially available plastic, which is popular like granula masterbatch. It is a low-density Polyethylene, which is lower than HDPE. LDPE has slightly different characteristics than HDPE, making it more malleable owing to its lower density and branching molecules.

Then, you should know the wide range of use of LDPE in making items like:

Disposable shopping bags

Juice boxes

Wire insulation

Plastic film

Plastic baggies

5.  Polypropylene (PP)

This is the fifth commercially available type of plastic. As is known to all, Polypropylene is a robust, heat-resistant plastic just like plastic film roll, which holds its shape even after extensive bending, twisting, and flexing.

Then, you should know the wide range of use of PP in making items like:

Plastic containers

Reusable water bottles

Medical components

Outdoor furniture

Toys

Luggage

Car parts

6.  Polystyrene (PS)

This is the sixth type of commercially available plastic. It is a naturally transparent thermoplastic usually known as Polystyrene (PS) plastic, which comes in both solid as well as stiff foam forms. Because rigid polystyrene plastic is generally non-toxic and odorless, it is widely used as a packing material. For example, it is used in the food packaging and electronics sectors. It can be considered as good Food Packaging Materials.

Then, you should know the wide range of use of PS in making items like:

Household appliances

Car parts

Instrument panels

Foam in child car seats

IT equipment

TVs and computers

CD and DVD cases
